Accessibility Statement
Last updated: 15 May 2026
Our commitment
Cherkez is committed to making our website accessible to as many people as possible, including people who use assistive technologies such as screen readers, keyboard navigation, or screen magnification.
This statement describes the accessibility of our website, what we have done to support accessibility, where we know there are limitations, and how to contact us if you encounter difficulty using the site.
What we have done
When building this website, we have:
-
Used clear, legible typography with sufficient size and line spacing for comfortable reading
-
Maintained strong contrast between text and background throughout the site
-
Provided descriptive alternative text for portfolio still images, so that the content of each image is communicated to screen readers
-
Structured the page with semantic headings so that assistive technologies can navigate the site in a meaningful order
-
Kept the site to a single page with anchor navigation, reducing the navigation burden for all visitors
-
Kept the use of motion limited, with the only moving element being a single muted background video in the hero section
-
Avoided pop-ups, automatic redirects, and interruptive interactions
Partial compliance and known limitations
We want to be honest about where the site's accessibility is limited. The following elements mean we cannot claim full conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) at this time:
The portfolio video. The film embedded on the site is hosted on Vimeo and uses Vimeo's player. The film contains no spoken dialogue — it is a cinematic film for property scored with music. Captions are therefore not applicable in the traditional sense. We are exploring adding an audio description and an extended text description of the film's content for visitors who use screen readers or who cannot view the video.
Third-party embedded tools. Our scheduling tool (Calendly) and video player (Vimeo) are provided by third parties. Their accessibility is governed by those providers, not by us. We have selected providers that maintain reasonable accessibility standards, but we cannot guarantee or modify their behaviour. For these specific elements of the site, we declare partial compliance with the standard.
Formal audit. We have not yet conducted a formal audit of the site against WCAG 2.1. We aim for the site to be substantially usable by visitors using assistive technologies, but we cannot at this stage claim full WCAG 2.1 AA conformance.
If you have difficulty using this site
If you encounter any part of the site that you find difficult to use, or if you would like the content of the portfolio film or any other element communicated to you in a different way, please contact us. We will do our best to help and to provide the information in a format that works for you.

Feedback and future improvements
This statement reflects the site as it currently stands. We plan to review it as the site evolves, and to make ongoing improvements to accessibility as part of that process. Feedback from visitors is welcome and helps us prioritise what to work on.
